Fast iteration beats big models
I use Pi because it runs in the terminal and stays pretty minimal. No mouse, just keyboard shortcuts and TUIs. I like that I have control over the system prompt, and it respects cached tokens. That setup works best for me (for now).
I run Kimi K2.5 Turbo via Fireworks AI because it is the fastest provider I have tried, and they all cost about the same. The Fire pass is $1 a day and unlimited.
I care more about fast iteration than one-shotting entire features. I would rather write small pieces, verify them, and stay in control.
Speed keeps the feedback loop tight. That is why this works for me.
This setup will not last. Things are moving fast and the tools will change. Until the paradigm shifts, though, this is what keeps the work productive and enjoyable.
