Fast iteration beats big models

Right now my coding setup is Pi with Kimi K2.5 Turbo, and the main reason is speed.

I use Pi because it runs in the terminal and it is quite minimal. I do not need the mouse, only keyboard shortcuts and TUIs. I also like that I have control over the system prompt and that it uses cached tokens properly.

I run Kimi K2.5 Turbo through Fireworks AI because it is the fastest provider I have tried, and all of them cost more or less the same. The Fire pass costs $1 a day with unlimited use.

I care more about fast feedback than about a model that can build a whole feature in one try. I prefer to write small pieces, check each one, and stay in control, and a fast model keeps that feedback loop short.

I know this setup will not last, because things are changing fast and the tools will change too. But until that happens, this is what keeps my work productive and fun.
